Welcome to the Sheppard Music School Web-Site. At the Sheppard Music School each student is given a private lesson on his/her instrument. Our students range in age from 5-75 and are from different backgrounds and proficiency levels. In addition to the one-to-one instrumental instruction, each student is taught basic music theory to advance general musicianship. The lessons are given in a comfortable, nurturing environment, where the parents are encouraged to attend. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

The Sheppard Music School is owned and operated by John Sheppard. Mr. Sheppard has an Associates degree in music from Nassau Community College and a Bachelors degree in performance from C.W. Post, L.I.U. Mr. Sheppard also attended Manhattan School of Music for one year. Mr. Sheppard has played the double bass with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Manhattan Chamber Sinfonia, and was the principal double bassist with the C.W. Post Orchestra. In addition to his classical work, Mr. Sheppard has toured with various groups in the pop/rock genre, and continous to record C.D.s and jingles for commercial airplay. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
